What are Luminaria?
Luminaria are small paper lanterns traditionally put out on Christmas Eve to celebrate. You can see examples of them in Midlothian below. In Midlothian, St. Stephen Lutheran Church and St. Augustine (formerly St. Christopher) Parish join together to sell luminaria kits.
Supporting our siblings who are hungry
For over 40 years, sales from luminaria have gone to support the food pantries at St. Stephen Lutheran Church and St. Augustine (formerly St. Christopher) Parish in Midlothian. Last year, over $15,000 was raised to support members of our community who are food insecure. These food panties serve over 7,000 people a year.
A Luminaira Kit is $10
Included in a $10 self-build kit:
10 candles
10 paper bags
Sand
Pre-Built kits also available for $10, which include:
6 luminaria ready to go.
Pre-built kits come with bags open and tops folded and candle standing on base, just add provided sand at home for quick and easy setup.

Kits will be for sale in the church parking lots and can be loaded directly into your car.
Pre-order Delivery available for Homes and Businesses
For orders of $25 or more, orders will be delivered on or before TBA to Midlothian and surrounding communities.
1 Self-build Kit - 10 candles/bags/sand for $10
Pre-Built kits will be available for delivery with candles attached to bags and ready for sand to be added.
1 Pre-built Kit - 6 candles/bags/sand for $10
Both standard and pre-built kits are available for delivery.

Any gift is greatly appreciated. You can mail a check made out to “Luminaria of Midlothian” to either St. Stephen or St. Augustine.
